Circa 1910 Jack Johnson Photograph (PSA Type I)
Circa 1910 image of Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson. Photo looks to be trimmed to 3.5x5.5", with the massive Johnson in an outdoor ring, wearing thin gloves as a crowd of onlookers takes in the action. Known as "The Galveston Giant," he became the first ever Black Heavyweight Champion via his 1908 victory over Tommy Burns. Extensive editors marks are on back along with pencil ID of Johnson and three stamps indicating that this is from the expansive Brown Brothers photo archive.
