Circa 1911 Philadelphia Athletics/New York Giants World Series Motorcade Photograph
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Vintage mounted photo showing a motorcade carrying members of the Philadelphia Athletics, circa 1911. While 12 Philadelphia Athletics players can be seen in the various cars, at least one carries players from another team, one of whom is clearly wearing an "NY" sweater. (None of the players can be positively identified.) Given that, this motorcade most likely took place prior to a World Series game between the A’s and Giants in 1911. The A’s players are wearing pillbox-style hats, which the club wore only between the years 1909 and 1914, and the other team is wearing black hats, which were worn by the Giants in 1911. A Brown Brothers credit stamp appears on the reverse. The photo (7.5x4.75”) is in Excellent condition. It has been affixed to a thick cardboard mount of equal dimensions. Though this is clearly a vintage photo, because it has been mounted, PSA will not accept it for evaluation, therefore, no guarantee can be made regarding a specific Type designation.
