Circa 1911 S74 Silks "Pillow Case" With Scarce "Red" Ty Cobb Variation
Issued in tobacco packages in the first decade of the 1900s, over 35 baseball silks have been stitched together to form a wonderful piece of early 20th century folk art. Included in this "pillow case" is a rare variation (dark red color) of Ty Cobb, while others include Hall of Famers Brown, Bresnahan (3), Bender, Clarke, Marquard. Also included in the tapestry are silks of actresses. Measuring a square 18x18", it remains in EX condition with minimal fraying around the edges, this is simply an exquisite work.
