Circa 1912 Charlie Chaplin & Ted Lewis Signed Boxing Photo (PSA/DNA)
Two of the top entertainers of the early 1900s strike an unusual pose in this 7x9" vintage Type I photo. Dapperly clad in dress attire, Charlie Chaplin and boxer Ted "Kid" Lewis are squaring off with boxing gloves as black ink conveys the inscription "Best Wishes, to Mike McGowan, From Charlie Chaplin and Ted Lewis." There is slight creasing and the expected toning from age. A Jumiere, 1912 stamp is on the right of the photo, and the signature is quite clear as the piece rates VG-EX condition. Comes with PSA/DNA LOA. The Little Tramp was actually a friend of Lewis, who ranks among the best boxers of all time, as well as godparent to Ted's son.
