Circa 1913 Frank Chance New York Yankees Pennant

Circa 1913 Frank Chance New York Yankees Pennant

Incredibly rare blue felt flag is tattered, has some discoloration, contains a dime-size hole, is missing a tassel and the point (those pieces are included with the pennant, however) yet it still has great eye appeal with brown-colored crossed bats and tones of white and gray used for the image of Frank Chance, the former Chicago Cubs first baseman and New York Yankees player/manager. Chance was only with the Yankees in 1913 and 1914 making it easy to narrow down the date of issue. Chance's image is on the left while "NEW YORK" is on the right. This is the first one of these we have handled, and the earliest New York Yankees pennant known to exist. 10 3/4" x 28 1/2"
