Circa 1917 Eddie Cicotte Photograph (PSA Type IV)

Vintage photo of pitcher Eddie Cicotte as a member of the Chicago White Sox, circa 1917. Cicotte is pictured warming up on the sideline prior to a game. One of the top pitchers in the league during the late 1910s, Cicotte was one of the key players who conspired to “throw” the 1919 World Series. As a result of his actions, he, and seven of his teammates, including Joe Jackson, were banned from organized baseball for life in 1921 by newly elected baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with Cicotte’s name written in pencil. The photo (6.5" x 8.25”) displays light editorial outlining to Cicotte’s image. In Very Good to Excellent condition. Culled from the Legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type IV Authentic.
