Circa 1917 New York Yankees Original Glass Plate Negative

Circa 1917 New York Yankees Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass plate negative picturing the New York Yankees in a traditional team pose, circa 1917. Thirty team members are pictured here, including Frank "Home Run" Baker, manager "Wild Bill" Donovan, and Roger Peckinpaugh. The notation "Yanks 1913" is written in the lower right corner, but that is an erroneous date, because Frank Baker didn't join the Yankees until 1916 and Donovan was manager of the club from 1915 to 1917. The negative (8.5x6.5") displays several scratches and chips to the emulsion. In Good to Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
