Circa 1920 Smoky Joe Wood Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Joe Wood as a member of the Cleveland Indians, circa 1920. Wood is pictured posing in front of the grandstand as he gazes directly into the camera. After injuring his pitching arm as a member of the Boston Red Sox, Wood enjoyed a successful outfield career with Cleveland from 1918 to 1922. Wood's name and team affiliation appears on the reverse, along with handwritten editorial notations and a "Herald Traveler" stamp. The photo (5x8") has been trimmed along the left border and is otherwise in Very Good to Excellent condition, with a few light creases. Encapsulated as Type I Authentic by PSA.
