Circa 1940 Lew Riggs Game Worn Jacket, Glove & Spikes
A fine assortment acquired directly from the Reds third baseman. Terrific, patriotic red, white and blue warm-up jacket kept Riggs warm in the dugout. Simple letterman-style design is missing the large logo "Reds" patch on back, but his jersey number "15" patch is still affixed just above the left cuff. A red rectangle of fabric stitched inside the elasticized waistband has "Riggs" embroidered in white. "A.G. Spalding & Bros." tagging in collar. Condition is 9.5/10. Gnarled "Rawlings" glove has just the look you want from vintage game used memorabilia. No question that this one was used for several seasons, yet it remains undamaged and perfect for display. Equally strong spikes have "Spalding" tagging in the tongues and the remnants of ancient infield clay stuck to the underside. A superb trifecta of quality, vintage game worn memorabilia. LOA.
