Circa 1946 Jackie Robinson Twice-Signed Montreal Royals Real-Photo Postcard (JSA)
Real photo postcard of Jackie Robinson as a member of the Montreal Royals, signed twice by Robinson. The posed matte-finish photo pictures Robinson leaping in the air to simulate a catch. Beautifully signed by Robinson in black fountain pen (grading 8/10) across his image. In addition to signing the photo, Robinson has added a handwritten note to the recipient on the reverse, along with another full signature: "Thanks for your letter. I hope the writing on the back will not interfere. Sincerely, Jackie Robinson." Both the text and signature are scripted in black fountain pen and grade 8/10. Early Jackie Robinson signed items dating from his first season in organized baseball with the Montreal Royals have always been highly coveted by collectors and this piece, which is twice-signed, is an exceptional example in all respects. The postcard (3.5x5.25") displays adhesive residue near the corner areas on the reverse from having once been mounted in an album, otherwise it remains in Excellent condition. Full LOA from JSA.
