Circa 1948 All American Girls Professional Baseball League Original Patches and Yearbook
Trio of scarce items relating to the short-lived All-American Girls Baseball League, which ran from 1943-1954 and was immortalized in the 1992 film "A League of Their Own." <strong>1) 1948 Peoria Redwings Yearbook.</strong> The substantial forty-eight page program features photos and short biographies of all the team members, as well as team photos of each league member, and numerous league statistics. 8.25x10.75". EX-MT. <strong>2) Peoria Red Wings Team Patch. </strong>The red-white-and-blue chenille patch features the AAGBBL logo in the center, and is lettered "Peoria Red Wings." The circular patch (5.5" diameter) displays moderate-to-heavy use, including fabric residue on the reverse. VG. (<em>Despite the fact that this appears to have been worn on a garment, research indicates that IT IS NOT the patch worn on the team uniform</em>.) <strong>3) Grand Rapids Chicks Team Patch. </strong>The red-white-and-blue chenille patch features the AAGBBL logo in the center, and is lettered "Grand Rapid Chicks." The circular patch (5.5" diameter) displays heavy use, including a tear along the border and fabric residue on the reverse. FR-GD.
