Circa 1948 Branch Rickey & Leo Durocher Photograph (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph capturing Branch Rickey and Leo Durocher conferring in Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers office, circa 1948. Durocher rejoined the Dodgers as manager in 1948 after sitting out a full year following his suspension by Baseball Commissioner Happy Chandler. While we do not know the circumstances of the occasion shown here, Durocher seems in a good mood as he watches Rickey light his cigar. Each individual's name is written on the reverse, as is the year "1947." The photo (8.25x6.5") is trimmed along the right border and displays light creasing and pinholes along the border areas. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
