Circa 1955 Marlon Brando Original Photograph by Sid Avery (PSA Type I)

Circa 1955 Marlon Brando Original Photograph by Sid Avery (PSA Type I)

Original photo of Hollywood heartthrob Marlon Brando, photographed by Sid Avery in his Beverly Glen, California, home for the Saturday Evening Post article, "The Star Who Sneers at Hollywood," June 6, 1953. Known for award-winning performances in movies such as "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951), "On the Waterfront" (1954), and, of course, his epic turn in "The Godfather" (1972). This image also resurfaced as part of a Time magazine tribute to Avery and his unique view of the hottest movie stars of the era in unusual settings. Caption on back of this image reads, in part, "Marlon Brando enjoying toast and coffee in his home on Beverly Glen on Beverly Hills." Back also has editors' marks in green and black ink, stamp from London Features International, Ltd., and Copyright Sid Avery stamp with stamped year of 1955. Encapsulated as PSA Type I photo.
