Circa 1956 Stan Musial Rawlings Glove In Box

The top of the box features a large card of Stan Musial that could be cut out. There are a few breaks at the seams on the box and lid - nothing extreme. There are some stains and creasing on the box, but it still has beautiful colors and appearance. The original fielder's glove, for a right-hander, is inside along with Rawlings catalog. The glove is vintage - small by today's standards. No wonder managers insisted on players catching a ball with two hands. The glove only has four fingers, as two fingers were to be placed in one of the finger sleeves. The glove has been used somewhat but is in Excellent condition. Hall of Fame baseball writer Bob Broeg wrote a quite detailed manual on playing baseball that is in Very Good condition and is included in the box. Musial was both an outfielder and a first baseman in his MLB career - all 22 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals. He won three World Series with the Cards, was a 3-time NL MVP and finished with 475 home runs and a .331 lifetime batting average. The glove, box, and manual all hearken back to the 1950s and create great nostalgia.
