Circa 1959-60 Jack Twyman Game Worn All Star Uniform
A rare piece of memorabilia from the infancy of the NBA, this classic uniform brings back images of the basketball stars of the 1950's and 1960's. A 6-foot-6 forward from the University of Cincinnati, Jack Twyman spent eleven seasons (1955-1966) in the NBA as a member of the Rochester/Cincinnati Royals franchise. He scored 15,840 points in his career, was named to the All-NBA Second Team in both 1960 and 1962, and he appeared in six NBA All-Star Games. Twyman was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983. This original uniform with "27" on the front and back of the jersey (made by Wilson, which is illustrated by size 42 tag sewn inside the front tail) has red and blue trim with red stars sewn on the front and back. There is one small hole on the back of the jersey near the neckline. The shorts are white satin with blue trim and contain a tag with "#27" printed on it sewn inside the waistband, along with a Rawlings size 36 tag. This uniform was originally obtained from a Twyman family member, and is the only game-worn uniform of his that has ever been offered for public sale.
