Circa 1959 Early William Shatner Signed Photograph (PSA Type I)

Circa 1959 Early William Shatner Signed Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original MGM publicity photograph of William Shatner, circa 1959, signed and inscribed by Shatner on the front. This is one of the earliest William Shatner signed photos we have ever seen, dating almost a decade prior to his signature role as Captain Kirk on the television show "Star Trek." PSA has encapsulated the photo, certifying the photo as Type I Authentic and the signature as "Authentic." Shatner's inscription, penned in black ink (grading 8/10), appears to the left of his image and reads "To Albert/best wishes/William Shatner." The handwritten date "10-5-59" appears in blue ink on the reverse. Shatner made his first appearance in a major film in MGM's 1958 release "The Brothers Karamazov." In the ensuing years, he appeared mainly on Broadway and on various television shows before landing the role of James Tiberius Kirk on "Star Trek" in 1966. The photo (8x10") remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
