Circa 1961 Vada Pinson Cincinnati Reds Game Worn Hat
Cincinnati Reds hat worn by star outfielder Vada Pinson, circa 1961. The white-felt cap features a pinstripe top and solid red brim. A red "C" is embroidered on the front. A "Wilson" label appears in the headband, along with a stamped "7 1/4" cap size. Pinson's uniform number, "28," is stamped on the underside of the brim. (Pinson wore number 28 during his entire career with the Reds.) Pinson has signed the underside of the brim in vintage blue ink. Although the signature has faded, it remains legible and grades 3/10 overall. The cap displays moderate wear and remains in Excellent condition overall. Pinson enjoyed an outstanding eighteen-year career in the Major Leagues, the majority of which was spent with Cincinnati (1958-1968). His finest overall season came in 1961. In addition to leading the league in hits with 208, Pinson totaled 16 home runs, 87 RBI, and recorded a career-high .343 batting average. He retired in 1975 with 256 home runs, 1,169 RBI, and a .286 career batting average.
