Circa 1967 Pittsburgh Pirates Game Issued Jersey
Pittsburgh Pirates game-issued jersey dating from circa 1967. The white flannel vest-style jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number 26 on the left breast and reverse. All letters and numerals are applied in black on gold felt. A Rawlings 46 tag appears on the left front tail, directly below which is a wash tag. The set and year tag, which was originally adjacent to the wash tag has been removed. Aside from the missing flag tag, the jersey is original as issued and displays very light wear. The tagging on this jersey conforms most closely to those worn by the Pirates in 1966 and 1967. Pitcher Elroy Face wore number 26 with the Pirates from 1953 to 1968, and this may have been issued to him during the late 1960s.
