Circa 1970 Charlie Krueger San Francisco 49ers Game Worn Jersey
Game worn jersey belonging to 49ers legendary defensive tackle Charlie Krueger, a two-time Pro Bowler and College Football Hall of Fame inductee. Krueger, who played college football for Texas A&M and was twice named an All-American there under coaching icon Bear Byrant, spent his entire 15-year career with the 49ers. This red dureen jersey sports the white twill number 70, which has since been retired by the organization, with white stripes on the sleeves and a Wilson size 48 tag on the front tail. The jersey is indeed game worn as evidenced by unrepaired tears to the numbers and fabric on the shoulders and body, as well as fraying and pulls throughout, but evokes a strong sense of being down in the trenches with Krueger. The jersey is all original and a terrific snapshot of a storied career.
