Circa 1970 Ray Kroc Plaque from Outside a Chicagoland McDonald's

Circa 1970 Ray Kroc Plaque from Outside a Chicagoland McDonald's

Silver metallic plaque hung outside of a McDonald's in the Chicago area. Honoring Ray Kroc's McDonald's fast-food empire the piece shows fine relief detail of his face, and Speedy the original McDonald's mascot holding a 15-cent hamburger sign, and the planet Earth -- all linked by the famed arches. Approximately 24 inches wide and 18 inches long, it weighs about 15 pounds. The density matches the complexity of the man it celebrates. While Kroc's Big Mac enterprise was serving billions, he bought a baseball team -- the San Diego Padres -- and earned notoriety when he apologized for its shoddy play over the stadium loudspeaker.
