Circa 1981 Bob Watson New York Yankees Game Used Glove (ex-Bobby Murcer Collection)
Beautiful Wilson glove shows nice game use from the 1981 season of New York Yankees first baseman Bob Watson. Right-handed model A2800 first baseman's mitt has "1613" stamped on the inside of the thumb, with "BOB WATSON" similarly stamped near the pinky. Outside of the thumb has "CZ" manufacturer's stamp, which dates the manufacture period to February of 1981. Mitt has been very well maintained, though there is some tearing to the leather at the wrist strap. Black and gold embroidered Wilson logo is on the outside at the base of the webbing. Number 28 was written near back pinky in bold marker which has mostly faded with age and use. Predominantly an outfielder early in his career, Watson was moved to first base in the latter stages and he played 50 games at first base for the Bronx Bombers in his '81 season. This piece originated from the collection of teammate Bobby Murcer, and lot comes with Letter of Provenance from his son, Todd Murcer.
