Circa 1998 Ken Griffey Jr. Seattle Mariners Signed Game Worn Alternate Jersey (Griffey Jr. COA)

Circa 1998 Ken Griffey Jr. Seattle Mariners Signed Game Worn Alternate Jersey (Griffey Jr. COA)

Rare circa 1998 Seattle Mariners alternate jersey game worn and signed by all-time great Ken Griffey, Jr. This rare style was introduced in 1997 and ended in 1999, thus the scarcity. Navy blue mesh top has stylized MARINERS across the chest in textured silver glitter lettering on black-and-aqua with compass rose logo patch overlapping the top of the "M." Round Mariners compass rose logo patch is on the left sleeve, rear numbers and lettering are in gray glitter-on-aqua, with name on a plate above Junior's legendary number 24. Signed in bold blue marker on the rear "4" but it displays some bleeding, grading roughly 6/10. This jersey may have been worn during his 1997 MVP season, in which Griff set the American League on fire, crashing league-leading totals of 56 homers and 147 RBI; in fact, he led the league in homers during each of the three possible seasons covered, with 56, 56, and 48 respectively, while averaging an astounding 142 RBI per season over that span. With 7 Silver Slugger awards to go with his 10 Gold Gloves and 630 career homers, it was not surprising that Ken Griffey, Jr., received the highest Hall of Fame vote total in history to that point when he was inducted in 2016. Light use shown, comes with Certificate of Authenticity signed by the superstar, vouching for the game used and autograph status.
