Circa Late 1800s Horace Partridge & Co. Trade Card

Scarce trade card issued by the Horace Partridge & Co., circa 1890s. The front features an illustrated portrait of company founder Horace Partridge, along with the company's address" "51 to 57 Hanover Street, Boston." As noted by the text on the front and reverse, the Horace Partridge & Co. was a purveyor of "Fancy Goods, Toys, Jewelry, Albums, Dolls, Musical Instruments, etc." Not noted here, but well-known by collectors, is that the company was also a major retailer in sporting goods, and for many years was the manufacturer of uniforms for both the Boston Red Sox and Boston Braves. The trade card (2.5x4.75") displays a tiny area of paper residue on the reverse and is otherwise in Excellent condition overall.
