Civil War Grand Army of the Republic Charter
Surrounded by its magnificent, original, Victorian frame, this one-of-a-kind, 19th-Century document is a marvelous lithograph, complete with seal and red, white and blue ribbon, honoring 30 Civil War veterans (names are listed) from the union side. The origin of the document is Army Post 107 in Palmer, Massachusetts and was signed by the department commander and assistant adjutant general in Boston on July 18, 1881. The Grand Army of the Republic, which produced the document, was formed in 1866 in Illinois. There is some visible rippling, as well as some chips and cracks in the frame's extremities but otherwise in EX condition.
