Both of these photographs feature the esteemed Charles Francis Adams III, the great-great-great grandson of President John Adams and great-great grandson of his son John Quincy Adams. An important man in his own right, he was not only the Secretary of the Navy but also the top helmsman of his time skippering the 1920 America's Cup winner "Resolute." 1) "Class of" 1888 football SIGNED albumen photograph is an exceptional early image. This is the class of 1888 and they appear young so it could be as early as 1884. Plus the melon football further dates it. Incredibly it is signed by each and ever player including "C.F. Adams 3rd." Mounted on paper. 2) Matching Harvard sculls team mounted photo with Charles Francis Adams III with class of "88" on all their jerseys. By Pach Brothers.
