Collection of Manuel Marin Artwork (Paintings & Sculptures) (11)
An outstanding offering of work from Spanish artist Manuel Marin. Included are (8) painting and (3) Sculptures. The paintings measure from 40x40" to an impressive 45x58". All are in the Mondrian style and feature mostly modernist and cubist themes with geometrical shapes and strong bold primary colors that leap right off the canvas. The paintings have been signed and dated on the verso by the artist. The sculptures are abstract modern pieces of art that include 1) Tuba set off with patriotic colors of red, white and blue. At the side of the tuba is a gold headed gouache white man in shackles and handcuffs. 2) Black cast iron wrench display with a family of Chasidic Jews at the base. 3) Black cast iron abstract symbolizing the tortures endured by the Jews during the Holocaust. It is topped by warrior bearing a shield and a spear with Nazi emblems at his feet. The oven shaped base features a diorama with Chasidic Jew being chased by two ghosts. The interior walls are painted a fiery red. A most eclectic and interesting grouping of fine art from this well distinguished artist. Marin has studied with the likes of Henry Moore and Andy Warhol. Today, works by Marin can be found in many prominent private collections as well as many galleries across Europe.
