Collection of Vintage Baseball Gloves (27)
Baseball gloves have evolved a great deal over the last 100 years and this collection serves as ample evidence. Originally they merely were designed for players to knock the ball to the ground and not necessarily catch it. Many styles and designs are represented here. The gloves here span from circa 1900 thru the 60's. There is a workman's style glove from the turn of the century and a 1910's Spalding catcher's mitt. There are other early generic models from the 1910's and 1920's including some children's sizes. Nice signature models include Goldsmith Mel Ott (EX-MT), JC Higgins Bob Feller, Rawlings Mickey Mantle (EX), Sears Ted Williams (VG) and a Sonnett Andy Seminick catcher's mitt. Overall condition of collection is VG.
