Coney Island by Glaubach

Coney Island by Glaubach

At the Turn of the Century, Coney Island was "the people's beach", the place where the masses went with their families for entertainment and to get away from summer life in the city. Presented is a beautiful full color three dimensional wood carving by artist Harry Glaubach highlighting Coney Island circa 1930. Roller coasters and the famous parachute ride are shown as are images of stars like Groucho Marx, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin. A movie poster starring Valentino and signs for Nathan's Famous and Fox's U-Bet Syrup are among the personal touches that evoke memories of Coney Island in days gone by. Tall carving measures approximately 41" X 46". MINT.
