Connie Mack and Frank Chance 1910 World Series Original Glass Plate Negative

Connie Mack and Frank Chance 1910 World Series Original Glass Plate Negative

Original glass plate negative capturing Philadelphia Athletics manager Connie Mack and Chicago Cubs player/manager Frank Chance seated together in the dugout prior to a 1910 World Series game at Shibe Park. The candid shot also pictures an unidentified A's player in the foreground as he crosses the camera's image field while entering the dugout. This photo was taken prior to either Game 1 or Game 2 of the Series, as those were the only two home games for the A's in the short five game series, which was won by Philadelphia. The victory marked the first of Connie Mack's three World Championships between the years 1910 and 1913. The negative (5x4") displays several small border chips and a few minor surface blemishes. In Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
