Cream RIAA Gold "White Matte" Award (17.5x21.5")
This original "white matte" award for the double album, "Wheels Of Fire" is presented to the album's producer, Mountain bassist, the late Felix Pappalardi. Number one on the Billboard charts for four weeks, the album was RIAA certified gold on 7/22/68. Originally procured along with numerous other awards, clothing, and instruments from Felix's wife many years ago. While the frame has numerous scratches and dings, this is typical of the soft wood moulding used to manufacture awards from the "white matte" era. The original hanging hardware, original backing paper, and "New York Frame And Picture Co." sticker are intact, although numerous tears are evident.
