Cy Young Cut Signature (PSA)
Cut signature of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young. PSA has encapsulated the cut and certified the signature as "Authentic." Young's signature, which appears on a small, unlined sheet, has been scripted in black fountain pen and grades 7/10. This cut is part of a much larger signature collection compiled by our consignor's father in the late 1940s ("The New England Autograph Collection"). All the items from the collection are featured in thirty-one separate lots in this auction, including many prominent Hall of Famer autographs. Of all the many players our consignor's father corresponded with at the time, Young appears to have been the most obliging signer. As a result, his signature is featured several times in the collection. The cut (3x1.5") displays light, uneven toning due to its having once been mounted in an album with photo corners; otherwise it remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
