Cy Young Signed Index Card (PSA)
Index card signed by Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young. PSA has encapsulated the card and certified the signature as "Authentic." Young's signature, which appears on the unlined side of the card, has been scripted in blue fountain pen and grades 6/10. In addition to his signature, Young has also added the name of his hometown, "Peoli O" (Ohio). This card is part of a much larger signature collection compiled by our consignor's father in the late 1940s ("The New England Autograph Collection"). All the items from the collection are featured in thirty-one separate lots in this auction, including many prominent Hall of Famer autographs. Of all the many players our consignor's father corresponded with at the time, Young appears to have been the most obliging signer. As a result, his signature is featured several times in the collection. The index card (5x3") bears typewritten biographical information for Young along the top border and a very small, light crease in the lower right corner. Excellent condition overall.
