Definitive Image of Hughie Jennings Glass Plate Negative
Definitive one-of-a-kind, from the camera, original glass plate negative of Hughie Jennings, who played and managed for the Detroit Tigers. Known for his colorful style and animated antics, the Hall of Famer is depicted coaching third base doing his distinctive "EY-YEH" routine in which the skipper whooped while raising his right knee. Circa early 1910s, this may be from the brief period in which he served as player/manager before becoming the full-time helmsman. Classic 7x5" image comes from the Brown Brothers service, the premier photo collection service founded in 1904.
