Dempsey-Gibbons Onsite Poster (1923)
Jack Dempsey fought Tom Gibbons on July 4, 1923, and Dempsey won by decision after 15 rounds to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. The fight was held in Shelby, Montana and nearly bankrupted the town. It was forever more known as the "Rape Of Shelby." Offered here is an original on site poster to this event. The poster is paper mounted on poster board with pictures of the fighters and other dignitaries. The images and print are bold and clear and the poster is clean. Has minor edge and surface wear, measures 23x35." Rare on site poster from one of Dempsey's most famous bouts.
