Dick "Ducky" Schofield, long-time Pirate and father of the Angels great of the same name, was better known for his glovework than his power at the plate. Offered is one of only 21 total balls which he hit out of the park during his nineteen year career, and the first he ever hit while a member of the AL Red Sox. The Official American League (Cronin) baseball shows great game use and is inscribed in Schoefield's hand, "1st American League Home Run Ball- 6-15-69 -Fenway Park-(Right Field 380 ft.)". The blue ballpoint ink is 9/10 and the ball shows significant game use.
