Dizzy Dean Game-Worn Glove from the 1938 World Series

Dizzy Dean Game-Worn Glove from the 1938 World Series

Another terrific glove given to Adolf Fischl by a Hall of Famer. Dizzy Dean wore this glove while playing for the Chicago Cubs during their heartbreaking 6 -3 Game 2 loss to the powerful New York Yankees in the 1938 World Series. Dizzy pitched extremely well, taking a 3-hitter into the seventh inning, but had never fully recovered from a toe injury in the 1937 season. Thus, this glove literally represents the culmination of his brilliant, but sadly abbreviated career. A letter of authenticity is included from the current owner, who received the glove from uncle Adolf in the early 1950's. The uncle knew Old Diz personally, and received the glove as a gift sometime after the 1938 Series. The glove features a "Rawlings" cloth tag and brass button, and exhibits wonderful signs of game use. Obviously worn for more than just the Fall Classic, this one exudes the utmost character. A rare opportunity to acquire a significant piece of baseball history.
