Don Drysdale Game Used Batting Helmet
Back in the ‘60s there wasn’t a more ferocious fastball pitcher. His brushback pitches became a thing of legend. Drysdale still holds the NL record for hit batsman at 154. It’s no wonder his batting helmet looks like its seen a battlefield. It's called "payback". In terms of gritty baseball memorabilia you won’t find anything that matches it. Scratches, scuffs, and several colored markings dominate the top of this unique piece. The front of the blue helmet with an “LA” logo on it has chips and cracks on the brim. On back is the original white cloth tape with the number “53” in black marker. Inside a tiny strip of padding demonstrates exactly how little protection the players had in those days. A rare item indeed.
