Dwight Gooden No-Hitter and Daryl Strawberry Homerun Baseballs
Two of the greatest players ever to emerge from the New York Mets farm system also reached great heights on the diamond across the East River in the Bronx as members of the Yankees. Dwight Gooden - who won the NL Cy Young in 1985 - tossed his only no-hitter on May 14, 1996 at Yankee Stadium, and he signed this official American League game-used ball from that memorable win vs. Seattle. The ballpoint signature rates 7.5/10 and is dated. Like Gooden, Darryl Strawberry debuted with the Mets and won the NL Rookie of the Year. The lefty slugger tagged this baseball as part of a two-homer game at Shea Stadium on July 28, 1985 vs. Houston. The official National League baseball is signed in blue ballpoint in 7.5/10 and includes the following: "1 ON HOME RUN SHEA STADIUM ASTROS VS. METS 8TH INNING 7/28/85." Both balls show good use.
