Early 1900s Cast Iron Baseball Doorstop from Buffalo B.B.C
<p><span style="font-size: 13px;">Out of this world, one-of-a-kind baseball doorstop came out of the Buffalo Baseball Park home of the Buffalo Bisons of the International League. Splendid creation was used to hold open the clubhouse door and birthed just for that very purpose. Obtained about 30 years by a legendary collector-dealer of American folk art (call him Mr. Z) who got it from a picker who got it from the clubhouse man of the stadium. Josh Evans, founding partner of Lelands was recently visiting the home of Mr. Z and saw this sitting on his floor next to a life sized turn of the century Uncle Sam figure and asked, "Hey, what's this?" The rest is history. <span class="TextRun SCXW189193988" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: #ffffff; line-height: 19.425px; font-variant-ligatures: none !important; font-family: Calibri, Calibri_MSFontService, sans-serif;"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW189193988" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: inherit;">E<span style="font-family: Verdana;">xceptional piece was custom made from heavy iron ingot almost </span></span></span><span class="TextRun SCXW189193988" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: #ffffff; line-height: 19.425px; font-variant-ligatures: none !important;"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW189193988" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: inherit;">exactly the </span></span><span class="TextRun SCXW189193988" xml:lang="EN-US" lang="EN-US" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: #ffffff; line-height: 19.425px; font-variant-ligatures: none !important;"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW189193988" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; background-color: inherit;">way a baseball is created to give it an incredibly authentic look. </span></span>Two halves are joined together in the ultimate baseball Yin and Yang. Holes were crafted to create the seams and LEATHER is sewn just like baseball stitching to join the halves. Magnificent piece of baseball folk art weighs an incredible 12 pounds and is 5" in diameter. The bottom is fashioned flat for it to rest against a door. And that door would not budge an inch.Unlike anything we have ever seen and to be appreciated by only the most sophisticated of collectors.</span></p>
