Wonderful collection of vintage porcelain. MUGS: 1-11) Series of the circa 1907 Earl Christy footballers and one baseballer. Mostly Princeton, plus Yale, Columbia and Harvard, one baseball and others football, total of 11 pieces. 12) 1930s baseball from England is scarce and the highest quality. 13) Turn of the century Mettlach cricketer. 14-15) Two engraved pewter steins: 1886 “First Fours” with glass bottom and 1905 for “150 yards” engraved. 16) Beautiful figural football-shaped “Mount Vernon.” PLATES: 17-18) Two handpainted Havana Lions Cuban baseball. 19-20) Pair of French "Les Sports" football plates. 21-23) Trio of baseball team heavy china dinnerware by Beamish Glassware. One with team "S" and two "P” (Pittsburgh?). Two plates and veggie tray. 24) Early soccer “Stout” ceramic beer bottle by Battey with original paper label. 25-30) Collection of mid-19th century cups made of early "paste," a rare form of ancient china. All are sports with shuttlecock, cricket (2), fencing, "foot-ball" and earliest form of boys playing a form of baseball (ball but no bat). Overall in EX-MT condition.
