Early 1950’s Joe Louis Fight Worn Trunks

Early 1950’s Joe Louis Fight Worn Trunks

It takes a special spirit of determination to beat all odds, and to emerge as a great one in an unlikely situation. Such a hero was Joe Louis, notably the first African-American to be considered an American hero during a time of great racial discrimination against blacks. His name forever stirs up thoughts of the greatest heavyweight champion of all time and his accomplishments have paved the way for young fighters of all generations worldwide. These purple fight trunks are an amazing sight to behold, conjuring up memories of the Brown Bomber. The large Everlast tag on the front of the waist reads “Made Expressly for Joe Louis”. Thought to be worn in the fight vs. Lee Savold, but we are not sure of this. One thing we are sure of is that these trunks were worn by the great Joe Louis during his professional boxing career.
