Early 1960s Maurice Stokes Benefit Game Original Photograph
Originating from the Maurice Stokes Benefit basketball game held at Kutsher's Country Club in Monticello, NY, this group photo was taken in the early 1960s. This is the original 8x10" black and white shot taken on the court, with Stokes in the center surrounded by the likes of Chamberlain, Russell, Twyman and other big stars of the day. Stokes, one of the sport's early greats, was debilitated by a head injury suffered in a game, and was later cared for by Jack Twyman, who organized the game to raise funds for his friend. There is a light crease across the photo, but it is overall in EX condition.
