Early 1960s Philadelphia Eagles Game Used Helmet
We bet Frank Gifford still has the imprint of Eagles wings from just such a helmet as this one on his anatomy to this day, a souvenir of the the devastating hit he took from Chuck Bednarik in 1960. The kelly green Eagles helmet was worn back in the early to mid-1960s and is one of the earliest suspension helmets used in the NFL. It has silver Eagles wings on either side and shows plenty of game use. Manufactured by Ridell, the original chin strap and suspension padding are all intact although the face bar is missing. Size 7 1/4 and a tag inside the padding states, "T K 2, Tru Kurv Helmet". This beauty comes with an LOA.
