Early 1960s Stan Musial Signed Game-Model Bat

Early 1960s Stan Musial Signed Game-Model Bat

Stan Musial's 3,630 career hits are a St. Louis record and rank fourth in major league history. Perhaps a few came off this very Hillerich and Bradsby model M159. It's the same type that the Hall of Famer used, though the "15" in marker on the knob creates reasonable doubt. The 34" bat shows use with a cracked handle. It weighs 30.5 oz and was signed by Musial in 7/10 felt tip marker on the barrel. The bat could have been used by Musial and then by someone else, but we may never know. A 24-time All-Star, "Stan the Man" was the first major league player to appear in more than 1,000 games at two different positions, registering 1,896 games in the outfield and 1,016 at first base.
