Early 1970s Joe Namath New York Jets Jersey

Early 1970s Joe Namath New York Jets Jersey

Joe Namath famously predicted his Jets would upset the favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, and he lived up to the hype. This pro model jersey belonging to "Broadway Joe" is very similar to the jerseys that he wore in games. It was obtained from Thorpe Sporting Goods during the early 1970s. The only differences are the cuffed sleeves and size. Number 12 is on the front, back, and both sleeves. Sand Knit size 44 and New York Jets tags are sewn on the crotch piece. "NAMATH" is sewn on a nameplate on the back. It is signed and personalized on the back number. Although this was never worn by Namath, it makes a great display at a fraction of the cost of a game-used jersey.
