Early 1980s Pete Rose Mizuno Signed Game Worn Warmup Jacket
"I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball," said the all-time Major League hit leader, Pete Rose. Rose did love to play baseball, and his enthusiasm for the game earned him the nickname "Charlie Hustle." Rose played 24 Big league seasons, 19 of those with the Cincinnati Reds. Rose amassed 4,256 hits, playing his last season in 1986 while he was a playing manager with Cincinnati. Rose's last season managing was in 1989, so this jacket was worn by Rose while he was working out or warming up. The front of the jacket has "MIZUNO" in white letters on the right chest. Rose has signed and inscribed "Good luck/Pete Rose" below the Mizuno lettering. The neck has a "World Win Mizuno" tag. The lower inner right side has a tag with washing instructions illustrated in symbols. White block lettering on the top of the back reads "PETE ROSE" and under the name, also in white block letters is "MIZUNO." The plastic jacket shows use, and the material is a little tacky. There is only one man who has more hits than anyone who has ever played the game, his name is Pete Rose, and here is an opportunity to possess his warm-up jacket.
