Ebbetts Field Box Seat Signed By Duke Snider
One of the most celebrated ballparks in Major League history, Brooklyn's Ebbetts Field was home to the Dodgers from 1913 through 1957 when the team moved to Los Angeles. Located in the Flatbush section of the city, the stadium was host to two firsts in baseball. In addition to Jackie Robinson becoming the first black major leaguer in 1947, the Dodgers played Cincinnati in the very first televised game in 1939. The only pennant the Dodgers won while Ebbetts hosted the team was in 1955. Ebbetts Field also played home to the Negro League Brooklyn Eagles and the United States League Brown Dodgers. The stadium was demolished in 1960. This great blue curved back box seat has been partially restored. The top back slat has "42" stenciled on it in white paint. The middle back slat has an engraved commemorative plate with the Seitz & Company authenticity guarantee and stadium information on it. Next to the engraved brass plate is Dodger Hall of Famer Duke Synder's autograph in gold marker grading a 9/10. The chair has some chips in some of the paintwork, with the metal base of the chair support showing through in one place. A great item to remember Dodgers history with.
