A fantastic amassment of typed and signed letters from the Ed Barrow estate with absolutely priceless content. Signed letters include Mrs. Babe Ruth, the “Old Arbitrator” – Bill Klem (stamped signature) Red Rolfe (response to Barrow’s selection of him to manage the Tigers), Billy Evans, William Harridge (6), George Weiss (3), Barrow & Tom Yawkey. A great inside look at some of the masterminds behind the greatest professional clubs during the 1940’s. Included is an original contract (dated February 21, 1945) between Barrow & the Yankees, signed by George Weiss, Barrow, & President MacPhail, plus 2 wire telegraphs – one to Yawkey from Barrow, the other to Barrow from Branch Rickey.
