Emile Griffith Fight Worn Robe (Family LOA)
Beautiful boxing robe fight-worn by Emile Griffith, who had the distinction of winning championships in three different weight classes. Black velour robe has a gold satin trim and lining to the collar with Tuf-Wear tag in neck. "Emile" had been stitched to the front pocket but has since been removed with faint traces remaining. Shows nice wear and comes with copy of LOA from Luis Rodrigo Griffith, Emile's son. Despite winning 85 career bouts, Griffith is unfortunately perhaps best remembered for his 1962 knockout victory over Benny Paret, who died 10 days later without regaining consciousness.
