Since 1949, the gold Emmy Award statuette has symbolized excellence in television programming and is often considered the TV version of the prestigious Academy Awards for motion pictures. This particular award is a blank one that has not been engraved. It is 100% authentic, stands about 15" tall and is in NRMT condition and features the following wording around ts base: "THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES." Distributed six times throughout the calendar year, the Emmys are divided into numerous categories such as sports, daytime TV, technological, etc. There are also regional versions of the awards for local markets. The Primetime Emmys are the most prestigious and are often handed out in the fall when the new TV season gets underway. The TV show with the most-ever nominations is Saturday Night Live with 142. Cloris Leachman holds the record for acting with eight Emmys.
